What about my concerns?
WON'T WE BE ALONE?
No. Why did the French and Dutch vote against the constitution? They voted against it because they do not want to be ruled by the EU either. Most people in Europe want friendly relationships and good trade relations among our nations, but dislike rule from Brussels and the European Union (EU). Far fewer people actually want the Super State. (We are not alone.) Never forget that all the people of Europe have been deceived just as we have been by their leaders, to the effect that the EU was a common market. The interntion of the constitution was to change the EU into a federal Superstate without telling any one. Now Europeans are beginning to find out, as we are. We will not be alone. (please click on EU Deceit). A recent survey relegates us to third place on the OUT OF EU podium.Latvia takes Pole Position, with only 29% of its people wanting to stay in the EU. Austria comes second, with 31%. We are third, with 33%. Even France now has only 44% Europhiles. We are not alone.
WILL WE LOSE EMPLOYMENT RIGHTS?
Many of the rights that we enjoy originate from the proper relationships between the workers and employers in this country.
Some of the rights originated in the EU make the whole economy uncompetitive, which leads to bankruptcies, the export of jobs outside Europe, and unemployment. Rights of workers and of Industry will continue to be a balance. The balance is much better maintained through democracy within the UK than by regulation from an undemocratic bureaucracy in Brussels.
WILL WE LOSE JOBS?
We import much more from Europe than we export to them. If the EU imposed trade barriers, only they would lose. We have less than half the unemployment in the rest of the EU; Do we want to follow their path any further? We are more likely to lose jobs by staying in. We would keep free trade agreements with the EU, which is what we voted for when we chose to join.
WILL WE LOSE POWER?
We punch above our weight because we have many mighty good friends and allies around the world. We would lose this power if we became submerged in the European defence force and the European Super state.
There is no indication that the EU defence force would be effective to defend us, or our vital interests overseas (which are different from other EU states). We would be just one voice in 25 or more if we stay in.
WILL OUR HEALTH AND SAFETY STANDARDS FALL?
Our working practices are the best in Europe, and come from the British Health and Safety Act 1974. You only have to look at practices in Europe to see that we have little to learn or gain from the EU.
WILL WE LOSE INVESTMENT?
We get more investment than any other European Nation, and the proportion is growing, even though we are outside the Euro zone. This is because we have not yet followed the EU social engineering path. The less EU regulation, the more likely we are to attract investment.
WILL INTERNATIONAL CRIME BECOME WORSE?
In the EU we have little control over our borders, but out of EU we can better control those that try to come in. We will still have international police co-operation, and we will have extradition treaties with the EU and with many other countries. All incoming goods will be subject to British Customs and Excise.
DO WE NEED TO BE PART OF EUROPE TO COMPETE IN THE 'GLOBAL ECONOMY'?
The flood of regulations and Euro standards from the EU make everything more expensive and difficult to make, and every business harder to run. The EU is becoming increasingly uncompetitive in the Global Economy. We do not want to go down with them.
WILL OUR RICH CULTURAL MIX BE DAMAGED IF WE LEAVE THE EU?
We have better racial relationships in Great Britain than anywhere else in the world.
WILL WE BE FLOODED WITH ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS?
In the EU, it is EU law that controls our immigration policy. Out, we can set our own British rules to make sure we allow in those that we want, and not others. We will still have our obligations to genuine asylum seekers.
WILL IT COST MORE TO LIVE?
The EU costs every family in the UK at least £4000 per year on average. We would only save our money.
WILL OUR PENSIONS BE AFFECTED OR MADE WORSE?
In the UK pensions are not well catered for. But the pension deficit is much worse in Europe. The new nations have little invested for the future. The demographics problem (the number of young working people compared to retirees) is worse in Europe. If we stay in we may end up shelling out for other people's pensions.
DOESN'T THE EU REGULATION STIMULATE THE ECONOMY?
Even the EU figures say that our GDP would be about 7 percent higher if we had US style regulation. Our economy is currently growing faster than the EU average, but it would grow quicker if we were out.
WOULDN'T IT BE BETTER IF WE RE-NEGOTIATE THE WORST BITS RATHER THAN LEAVE?
No. There is a device called the Acquis Communitaire, or ratchet. Once we have signed any clause in a treaty, it becomes part of Community Law, and can only be reversed if every one of the 25 Prime Ministers in the Council of Ministers agrees. Ask our French, Spanish, Dutch and German friends: can we have our fisheries back please? No. Not unless we leave the EU. There is no chance of any re-negotiation.There is not even a forum for re-negotiation.
IS IT TOO LATE TO GET OUT OF THE EU?
We can leave any time we like. The Queen has not even signed the Maastricht Treaty yet. All we have to do is tell the EU we are leaving, and stop paying the Billions per year we are charged for membership. If we took the next step, ratifying the constitution, then we would be bound in too tightly to escape.
SURELY ALL OUR POLITICIANS KNOW BEST?
They do what is expedient, and what keeps them in office, and gives them a bigger stage to act on, and gives them an afterlife when they fail here, like Kinnock, Patton, Mandelson and others. They do not always have your best interests at heart. Sometimes we have to shout so they hear us: OUT OF EU! If this is what you want then have your say.
Tell your local political representative
We want OUT!
SURELY THE CONSTITUTION HAS BEEN KILLED OFF BY FRENCH AND DUTCH REJECTTIONS?
Well, it should have been, because it had to be agreed unanimously. But it has not died. The Commission, and the German Presidency, are struggling to reintroduce it by any means, fair or foul.
SURELY THE REFORM TREATY CHANGES THE CONSTITUTION TO MAKE IT ACCEPTABLE?
No. The Constitution is a 320 page document setting up the EU as a Superstate. The Amending Treaty, signed by Blair as his final poison pill as Prime Minister to the British People, is 32 pages of amendments which are entirely superficial. They only take away the obvious trappings, the Flag (which remains just an 'advertisement'), the National Anthem (which remains a 'theme tune'), the Foreign Minister (who becomes a Special Representative) and the like. But ALL OF THE SUBSTANCE OF THE CONSTITUTION REMAINS.
SURELY WE CAN TRUST BROWN?
No. Although the Labour Manifesto promises a Referendum before any more powers are abandoned to the EU, Brown is saying that there is no need for a Referendum on this Treaty. He knows he is deceiving us, and clearly is shown as an untrustworthy Spin Merchant
